การศึกษาในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาศักยภาพของกลุ่มวิสาหกิจชุมชนวังซองร่วมใจรักษ์ 2) เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์สมุนไพรแปรรูปของกลุ่มวิสาหกิจชุมชนวังซองร่วมใจรักษ์ โดยการศึกษาและเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกลุ่มวิสาหกิจชุมชนวังซองร่วมใจรักษ์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์ โดยใช้วิธีการวิเคราะห์จุดแข็ง จุดอ่อน โอกาส และอุปสรรค
กลุ่มวิสาหกิจชุมชนวังซองร่วมใจรักษ์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์ มีจำนวนสมาชิกทั้งหมด 25 ราย พื้นที่ในการปลูกผักปลอดภัยจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 1,200 ไร่ โดยกลุ่มและเครือข่ายที่ทำเกษตรอินทรีย์มีมากกว่า 200 ราย และพบว่ากลุ่มวิสาหกิจชุมชนวังซองร่วมใจรักษ์ มีความสนใจในการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์สมุนไพรแปรรูปเพื่อสร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มทางเศรษฐกิจ
ผลศึกษาวิเคราะห์ศักยภาพของกลุ่มวิสาหกิจชุมชนวังซองร่วมใจรักษ์ โดยกิจกรรมการวิเคราะห์ศักยภาพกลุ่ม พบว่า จุดเด่นของกลุ่มคือด้านวัตถุดิบที่นามาใช้ในการผลิตมีในพื้นที่ หาได้ง่าย และมีจุดแข็งเรื่องของพื้นที่ที่ทำการปลูกพืช ผัก สมุนไพร ปลอดภัยเพื่อจำหน่ายเป็นหลัก
ผลจากการประชุมกลุ่มเพื่อสำรวจแนวทางความต้องการแปรรูปผลิตภัณฑ์สมุนไพร เพื่อสร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มทางเศรษฐกิจ คือ ผลิตภัณฑ์สมุนไพรแปรรูปด้วยวิธีสกัดเย็น ซึ่งวัตถุดิบที่ใช้ คือ มะพร้าว ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับความต้องการของกลุ่มที่จะพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ เนื่องจากความสามารถในการผลิตมะพร้าวอินทรีย์ ของกลุ่มมีประมาณ 5 -10 ตันต่อปี พื้นที่ปลูกรับรองมาตรฐานเกษตรอินทรีย์ แบบมีส่วนร่วม (PGS ) มาตรฐานเกษตรอินทรีย์วิถีเพชรบูรณ์ นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นการเพิ่มมูลค่าด้วยการแปรรูป ให้เป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีประโยชน์และน่าสนใจ ซึ่งปัจจุบันการผลิตสมุนไพร หรือพืช ผัก อินทรีย์ส่งให้กับ modern trade และคู่ค้าอื่น ๆ อยู่แล้ว
