การวิจัยเรื่อง วิถีไทย และ วัฒนธรรมประชาธิปไตย : ศึกษากรณีจังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อศึกษาทัศนคติ วิถีชีวิตวัฒนธรรมคนไทยกับวัฒนธรรมประชาธิปไตยในเขตพื้นที่จังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์ 2)เพื่อศึกษาอิทธิพลวัฒนธรรมที่มีต่อทัศนคติความเชื่อทางประชาธิปไตยของประชากร
วิธีการดำเนินการวิจัยในครั้งนี้ได้กำหนดผู้ให้ข้อมูลคือประชาชนในจังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์ จำนวน 11 อำเภอ อำเภอละ 100 คน ที่ได้จากการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง(Purposive Sampling) คัดเลือกจากประชากรแยกตามกลุ่มอาชีพ 4 อาชีพ คือ เกษตรกร ค้าขาย รับจ้าง และข้าราชการ รวมทั้งสิ้น 1,100 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลคือ
แบบสอบถามเพื่อการสัมภาษณ์ ข้อมูลที่รวบรวมได้นำมาวิเคราะห์ด้วยโปรแกรมสถิติสำเร็จรูปเพื่อการวิจัยทางสังคมศาสตร์ ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า คุณลักษณะทั่วไปของผู้ให้ข้อมูลเป็นเพศชายมากกว่าผู้หญิงด้านอายุส่วนใหญ่มีอายุเฉลี่ยที่ 40-49 ปี มีอาชีพเป็นเกษตรกรสำเร็จการศึกษาในระดับมัธยมศึกษามีรายได้ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ระหว่าง 5,001บาทถึง10,000 บาท
สำหรับระดับทัศนคติทางวัฒนธรรมเกี่ยวข้องกับด้านความเชื่อ/ประเพณี/วัฒนธรรมไทย/วิถีแบบไทยผลการวิจัยพบว่าทัศนคติทางวัฒนธรรมโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมากและสำหรับระดับทัศนคติทางวัฒนธรรมประชาธิปไตยผลการวิจัยพบว่าทัศนคติวัฒนธรรมประชาธิปไตยโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง

The current paper on “Thainess and Democratic Culture: Phetchabun Province aimed to 1) find out attitudes toward Thainess and Thai culture including democratic culture in Phetchabun province and 2) discover cultural influence over public attitudes to and belief in democracy.
According to the methodology, the study used purposive sampling to exemplify the people in 11 districts of Phetchabun province—100 each district. These samples were randomized from 1,100 of the total population of 4 different careers: farmer, merchant, general employee, and civil servant. A paper questionnaire for survey was used to collect data. Then, the data was manipulated by a statistical packaged program for the social sciences.
The findings showed the majority of the respondents were male; almost all the respondents were in the age range of 40-49; most of the respondents worked as farmers; most of the respondents obtained high school; most of the respondents were in the income range of 5,001-10,000 baht.
The overall level of the attitudes toward Thai beliefs, traditions and culture and Thainess was high. Meanwhile, the overall level of the attitudes toward democratic culture was moderate.
