The research on “ People’s participation in The Administration of sub-district municipalities in Phetchabun province,” aimed to study a level of people’s participation in the administration of sub-district municipalities in Phetchabun province to compare people’s participation in the administration of sub-district municipalities in Phetchabun province and to study the problems and suggestions of people toward to participation in the administration of sub-district municipalities in Phetchabun province, used the questionnaires in data collection. The sample used in this study was people in 22 sub-district municipalities in Phetchabun province totally 400 persons.
The study result was found that people’s participation in the administration of sub-district municipalities in Phetchabun province in general was at less level. Considered each part, it was found that every part was at less level. Sort descending was consequently the part of result acceptance from a developed project, part of the developed project action, part of the developed project planning, part of the developed project initiatives and part of the developed project evaluation.
The comparative result of people’s participation in the administration of sub-district municipalities in Phetchabun province divided by sex, age, marital status, educational level, career, monthly income, status in community and period in community presence in general was not different significantly at 0.05.
People’s problems toward to people’s participation in the administration of sub-district municipalities in Phetchabun province were found that people lacked of knowledge, understanding how to plan, recognition of privilege, role and public awareness including thinking that they themselves were not important, not their duties, not have time and opportunity of occupation. Committee appointment did not distribute covering an every part of people, mostly was the old group of people. People did not know the sources of the projects and activities, caused them not able to follow, investigate the sub-district municipalities’ works.
The suggestions: sub-district municipalities should have a training, providing knowledge and understanding about an importance of participation in administration and caused people to be recognized the privilege, role and public awareness. The sub-district municipalities should have strategy in an aspiration to make people have wish to participate the activities or projects made by the sub-district municipalities and in the activities or developed projects, they should set up on Sunday because it was a holiday that every career could participate it.
