Scope and Objectives:

Southeast Asia is undergoing significant transformations driven by technological advancements, infrastructural developments and shifting geopolitical landscapes. The region's connectivity initiatives, such as the ASEAN Connectivity Master Plan 2025, aim to enhance physical, institutional and people-to-people linkages (ASEAN 2016, 2021). This special issue seeks to address the following critical areas for the post-2025 Connectivity agenda:

• Digital Connectivity:
- The role of digital infrastructure in fostering economic growth and regional integration (Yoon, Lee and Oh 2023).
- Impact of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, blockchain) on connectivity (Ungson and Soorapanth 2022).
- Challenges and opportunities in digital transformation within Southeast Asia.

• Infrastructure Development:
- Analysis of major infrastructural projects and their implications for regional connectivity.
- Financing and policy frameworks supporting infrastructure development.
- Case studies on successful infrastructure initiatives enhancing regional integration.

• Economic and Trade Connectivity:
- Regional trade agreements (e.g., RCEP) impact connectivity and economic integration.
- Cross-border trade facilitation and logistics improvements (Rowley 2013).
- The role of e-commerce and digital trade in transforming economic connectivity.

• Social and Cultural Connectivity:
- The influence of connectivity on social cohesion and cultural exchange.
- Educational exchanges and mobility of talent across borders.
- Initiatives promoting people-to-people connectivity and regional identity.

• Geopolitical and Security Dimensions:
- The geopolitical implications of connectivity projects in Southeast Asia (De Lombaerde et al. 2024)
